We move in. You get a new dog back.
Your dog lives with us as family — not in a kennel. 5 weeks of daily training in real-world environments. We handle the heavy lifting, then teach you how to maintain it.
Not your typical board & train.
Most B&T programs are glorified kennels. We do it differently — your dog lives with us as family while we train them in the real world.
Home, not kennel
Your dog sleeps in our home, on our couch, part of our family. No concrete runs. No kennel stress.
Real-world proofing
We train at parks, stores, restaurants — everywhere you'll actually take your dog.
Daily updates
Photo and video updates every single day. You'll never wonder how they're doing.
Owner transition
Week 5 is about YOU. We train you side-by-side so the behaviors transfer home.
You won't wonder how they're doing.
Other programs take your dog and go dark. We send daily photo and video updates straight to your phone — you'll see every milestone.
- 3+ photos per day, minimum
- 3–5 videos per day, minimum
- A direct text line to your dog's trainer
- Real-time view of wins, struggles, and breakthroughs as they happen
Communication is a huge priority for us. While your dog is in our home, you'll follow their progress in real time — every milestone, every hard day, every breakthrough.
The road to reliability.
Every week builds on the last. By week 5, your dog is a different animal — and you know exactly how to maintain it.
Assessment & Foundation
We establish bond, rules, and structure. Your dog learns we're fair and consistent leaders. Daily routines begin: crate training, impulse control, basic commands.
Core Obedience
Heavy focus on heel, sit, down, place, and come. We build duration and distance in low-distraction environments before adding complexity.
Real-World Proofing
We take the show on the road. Parks, stores, restaurants, trails. Your dog learns to hold commands around real distractions.
Advanced Reliability
Off-leash reliability begins. E-collar conditioning (if applicable) for freedom. We proof in high-distraction scenarios.
Owner Transition
The most important week. We train YOU to maintain the behaviors. You work the dog side-by-side with us until you feel confident.
We train you last.
Most board & trains fail because the owner doesn't know how to maintain the work. We fix that.
Week 5 is dedicated to YOU. You come to us and work your dog side-by-side with the trainer. You'll learn the exact timing, commands, and handling that makes the behaviors stick.
You leave with a dog that listens — and the skills to keep it that way.
What it actually feels like.
A few words from clients about Board & Train specifically — pulled from Google Reviews, lightly trimmed for length, names abbreviated for privacy.
"We sent her in a leash-pulling, squirrel-lunging tornado. She came home a dog we can take into Home Depot."
"Charlie's recall is the difference between leashed for life and free on the trails. The owner-transition week is what made it stick."
"We had two reactive dogs and were bracing for chaos forever. After board & train, we feel calm and free in any environment."
Before you book.
Six things people ask before scheduling. If your question isn't here, text us at (435) 525-3493 — we usually answer within an hour during business hours.
Where does my dog stay?
In our home — not a kennel facility. Your dog sleeps in a crate in our house, hangs out on our couch, and is part of our family for the duration. This reduces stress and creates better learning conditions.
What if my dog is aggressive or reactive?
We specialize in reactivity and aggression cases. During the free consultation, we'll evaluate whether Board & Train is the right fit for your dog's specific issues. Some severe cases may need a different approach.
Do you use shock collars?
We use modern e-collar technology when appropriate. It's a communication tool, not a punishment — think of it like a tap on the shoulder, not a shock. It allows for off-leash reliability and clear communication at a distance. We'll discuss this in detail during your consultation.
What vaccines are required?
Current Rabies, Distemper (DHPP), and Bordetella. Your dog must be healthy and free of fleas and ticks. We'll confirm all requirements before drop-off.
How do I know my dog is okay?
Daily photo and video updates. You'll see exactly what they're working on, how they're progressing, and how happy they are. You can text us anytime with questions.
What happens after pickup?
Lifetime support. If issues pop up 6 months later, text us. We'll troubleshoot or schedule a tune-up session. We don't disappear after you pick up your dog.
