What happens

Here's exactly what happens.

No surprise cameras, no clipboards, no script. The same evaluation we'd do for any paying client — done in your living room, kitchen, or yard, wherever your dog actually lives.

Step 01

We come to you.

Your home, your dog, your real environment — that's where evaluation actually means something.

Step 02

We watch your dog.

Behavior, temperament, how they respond to you, and where the disconnect is showing up.

Step 03

We listen to you.

Your goals, your lifestyle, what you've already tried, what isn't working anymore.

Step 04

We build your plan.

A custom training recommendation — including length, structure, and pricing — before we leave.

What this isn't

What this isn't.

We've been on the receiving end of plenty of "free consults" that were really just sales calls. This isn't one of those. Three things to set straight before you book.

Not

a sales pitch.

We're not going to lock you in a room and pressure you. If we're not the right fit for your dog, we'll tell you — and we'll tell you who is.

Not

a quick meet.

This isn't 10 minutes of pleasantries on the doorstep. It's a real evaluation — the kind we'd do for a paying client.

Not

a guess on price.

Every dog is different. We won't quote a program until we've watched yours. You'll leave knowing the exact investment.

Why we do it this way

Why we do this for free.

Every dog is different. Some need 6 sessions. Some need 10. Some need a full Board & Train. We've trained too many dogs to put you in a generic package without watching yours first.

The consultation isn't a sales tactic. It's how we make sure the plan actually fits — and how we make sure you're committing to something that's going to work. We've taken dogs from unable to leave the house to confident in public — but only because the plan fit the dog.

From the consult itself

What it actually feels like.

A few words from clients about the consult specifically — not the program. Pulled from Google Reviews, lightly trimmed for length, names abbreviated for privacy.

She actually watched our dog instead of selling us. Walked us through what she'd do, gave us a real number, and left. No pressure at all.

Sarah M.
St. George · with Bella, 2yr Aussie

Chantel showed up, sat on the floor with our rescue for 20 minutes, and knew exactly what we were dealing with. We booked the program before she left.

Jordan T.
Washington · with Moose, 4yr rescue

Honestly expected a hard sell. Got a really honest conversation about what would and wouldn't work for our puppy. That alone earned our trust.

Common questions

Before you book.

Six things people ask before scheduling. If your question isn't here, text us at (435) 525-3493 — we usually answer within an hour during business hours.

Is the consultation actually free? What's the catch?
It's actually free. There is no catch. We do it because we won't quote a program without seeing the dog — and we've found that meeting in person is the only honest way to do this work. If we're not the right fit, you've lost nothing.
What if my dog is reactive or aggressive?
Tell us in the form. We've worked with hundreds of reactive and aggressive dogs — leash reactivity, dog-on-dog, dog-on-people, fear-based, resource guarding. We'll plan the consult accordingly so it's safe and productive for everyone, and we'll tell you honestly whether we think we can help.
How long does it take?
30–45 minutes. We watch your dog, listen to your goals, and walk you through the recommended plan with pricing before we leave.
Do I need to do anything to prepare?
No. Don't try to put on a show or get your dog to behave. The opposite, actually — we want to see what's normal at home so we can build a plan that works in your real life.
What areas do you serve?
All of Southern Utah — St. George, Cedar City, Washington, Hurricane, Ivins, Santa Clara, La Verkin, Toquerville, Kanab, and out-of-town clients on request.
Will you tell me how much it costs at the consult?
Yes. You'll know the exact program, the timeline, and the price before we leave your home. We don't follow up with quotes by email — that's not how we do it.
Still on the fence?

Not ready to book? Text us a question first.

Most people text us before they book — about reactivity, puppies, rescues, off-leash, whatever's on your mind. We answer in plain language, no pitch. When you're ready, the form is right above.
